This week we will be finishing our unit on limits, sequences and series. We will have the test on these topics, as well as conic sections, next Tuesday. Review of the quiz on conic sections as well as a study guide will follow at the end of this week.
During this week I hope you will also find time to complete the released items from the 2013 NCFE. Since this test is more dated it is less representative of this year's NCFE than the other released items we used in class, but it will still be helpful review. In particular, note that the NCFE does not have any short answer questions anymore (unlike this released form). There are 25 multiple choice items on this released form, so you should complete it in one sitting of 1 hour and 30 minutes. You may used the uploaded reference sheet, a calculator, and blank paper throughout the practice exam.

This week we will finish our unit on conic sections with hyperbolas. We will not have a quiz on this chapter until Friday, however, as many students missed instruction last week due to the college tours and the PSAT testing. Those students will need time this week to review notes and/or get tutoring to prepare for the quiz. We will begin our last unit, on limits, sequences, and series on Thursday.
This week we will take the quiz on polar coordinates (that was postponed from Friday) on Tuesday. We will continue to the next unit, conic sections, on Thursday and will spend some time reviewing parametric functions on Friday to prepare for the test on parametric and polar graphing on Tuesday next week.
Welcome back from break! We are now in the last, and probably toughest, quarter of the year. We will start off this week by becoming familiar with polar coordinates and graphs and we will quiz on Friday for this topic. A test for the chapter is tentatively planned for next Thursday.
This week is a short week which ends on a half day on Thursday, though we will not be having class that day. Therefore, the only day we will be meeting this week is Tuesday and we will use that time to finish the topic of parametric curves so that we can move on to polar coordinates when we return from break.
This week we will finally finish our unit test with the half of the test on vectors! Once this test is out of the way we will be starting Chapter 7 on parametric equations and polar coordinate systems and functions. Because we will be meeting for only one day next week before the break there will not be a quiz again until after we return from break.
We will be wrapping up the last bit of notes on vectors on Tuesday and then preparing for the unit test on Thursday. We will need to split the test over two days to allow students to properly prepare for the test, but this will allow us some time before the first half of the test on Thursday to review.
This week we will start with the quiz that was postponed from Friday (at student request). We will then finish this unit by exploring vectors in the plane. We will spend the rest of the week preparing for the unit test (next week).
This week we will finish learning trigonometric identities and apply them to solving equations. We will have a quiz on Friday for the trigonometric identities we have learned so far. The test for this unit will be next week, after we have looked at the application of vector arithmetic.
This week we will begin Chapter 6 on trigonometric identities. We will be omitting some of the identities presented in this chapter, focusing instead on a smaller set of fundamental identities, the process of verifying identities, and then using them to solve equations. We will have a short quiz this week on the material we are able to finish.
