This week we will finish our last unit test for the year on Tuesday. On Thursday and Friday we will begin covering our last unit, which is on limits, sequences, and series. We will only quiz on this unit.

This week we will finish the last lesson from Chapter 7 on parametric and polar equations/graphs on Monday. Due to so many students missing instruction time for the college tour and PSAT testing, we will not quiz on these topics until Friday. However, we will be moving on to the next chapter, which is on conic sections. We will be able to cover parabolic sections this week (and perhaps begin exploring ellipses) and will finish the rest of the conic sections next week.
This week we will complete the Chapter 4 test on Monday. We will then begin Chapter 6 on trigonometric identities. We should be far enough into this chapter to have a quiz on it Monday next week.
Welcome back from break! This week we will finish our exploration of trigonometric functions by studying the reciprocal functions (secant, cosecant, and cotangent) and their graphs, as well as inverse functions. We will also use inverse functions to solve simple equations. We will have a test on this chapter next Monday.
This is a short week in which we will finish our work with sinusoidal curves and take a quiz on the chapter so far. This quiz will be on Wednesday and will count as a quarter 4 grade. Thursday is a half day for the multicultural fair, so we will not be having class that day.
This week we will review for and take the test for Chapter 5. We will then begin Chapter 4 on trigonometric functions and we will take a quiz on Wednesday next week before we go on break (the quiz will count as a quarter 4 grade).
This week we will begin with the quiz for the middle of Chapter 5 on Monday. We will be able to finish the rest of the chapter this week with application problems for the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines and an introduction to vectors. The chapter test is tentatively scheduled for Monday next week, but this will depend some on how much time we are left with to prepare for the test this week.
This week we begin the first of our three units on trigonometry. We are beginning with trigonometry as it applies to triangles. First, we will review right triangle trigonometry (from Math 2), but we will quickly be diving into the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines to allow us to unravel oblique triangles in efficient and powerful ways. We will be focusing, throughout this chapter, on applications for these theorems in real world STEM examples. We will have a quiz this Friday on this week's material.
This week we will finish the last section of Chapter 3, on exponential and logarithmic functions. This section is on the application of identities and one-to-one properties of logarithmic and exponential functions to solve equations, and apply those equation solving skills to solve application problems from scientific disciplines. We will take some time to review the chapter contents before taking a test on the material on Thursday. We will be able to begin the next chapter on Friday, which will be an introduction to our unit on trigonometry.
This week we will be working our way through Chapter 3, which focuses on exponential and logarithmic functions. We will start with exponential and then, after reviewing inverse functions, we will explore the nature of logarithmic functions (as the inverses of exponential functions). From there we will establish properties of logarithms and use them to solve logarithmic equations. There will be a quiz on Friday for the material we are able to finish this week.
